jetzt kommt der Hammer...

ich habe eine anleitung für ein jäckchen gekauft - von einer Strick-Designerin, die schon lange tot ist - Elisabeth Zimmermann, bekannt für Strickmuster, die einfach sind aber wunderschön. Baby Surprise (Überraschung!!!!) Jacket nennt sich das Teil.

Also hab ich angeschlagen und gestrickt und gestrickt und mich gewundert, wie groß und unförmig das Teil war:

aber in der Anleitung stand immer wieder - Geduld haben, nicht wundern, weiter machen. Gut...

Dann war ich fertig und s.o. verwundert!

Danach kam der Moment der Erleuchtung (wo ist der Smilie mit der Glühlampe?)

und ich habe das Teil gedreht und gewendet, bis es Sinn machte

dann habe ich es zusammengenäht - nur ZWEI Nähte an den Schultern, die Ärmel entlang. Da ich nicht so ordentlich abgebunden habe, habe ich noch eine rand drumrumgestrickt heute morgen.

eh voila - fehlen nur noch die Knöpfe!

7-13-10 so I have 10 rows to go and no yarn left, but loopy ewe mail said it is on the way.

so I paid 10 Euro 50 for one Zauberball and will pay 24 Dollars for the second one - that is like almost twice as much… yay for imports

Wow this has taken a year, if counting the squares I made for the V&Z Project initiated by Wollschnegge. I am very happy about the result and even happier that is it finished!

Ja, das hat jetzt ein Jahr gebraucht, wenn ich die Quadrate mitzähle, die ich für das V&Z Projekt von Wollschnegge entworfen haben. Ich bin mit dem Resultat sehr zufrieden und noch glücklicher darüber, dass das Mammutprojekt nun abgeschlossen ist.

(i.e. isst keine Schoki, dachte ich. Und war auf der Suche nach einem kleinen Projekt. Der Baktus kam mir recht, aber der war mir zu kraus rechts - sprich langweilig. Also hab ich ihm einen Lace-Rand verpasst und zwar den, den ich schon meinem GAAA angetan hatte... Gestrickt habe ich mit Regia hand-dye effect.

ich mal wieder ein paar socken für meine tochte gestrickt habe, habe ich nun einen baktus am wickel, den mit einem lace-rand versehe, den ich gleich mitstricke, weil mir der reine baktus etwas zu langweilig ist.

als garn verwende ich die regia hand-dye effect azurit und es gefällt mir sehr gut!!

We have a new yarn store in town and I am super happy after visiting it for the first time today!

It is called Betsy's Yarn Barn or Betsy's Barn-Garden & Yarn and it is on 41A a couple miles south of the Sango Walmart. Anyway, the place is very cozy, the yarn selection is lovely and the prices are not half as bad as they are in the Nashville stores.

Us German speaking ladies, will now create another Aran Afghan and I am totally excited about it. I already knitted the first square and yesterday I wrote the instructions. And in a voting my suggestion for the project name won. So yeah, I am totally hyped about it!

I had to frog 2 days worth of labor...(about an inch)... when I picked up the stitches again, I checked the book for the needle size and read it wrong...so when I looked at my work, I noticed that the new stitches were much bigger than the previous ones. When I checked the book again, I saw that you need the #7 needle only for one row and I had overlooked that... so I need to redo the whole thing in a # 4, me thinks...

last weekend I dragged it out again, and slipped on what I had - which was easy without the needles in it -and low and behold - it fit over my hips... so I praised La Resistance de Frogging and put it back on needles... Yay

I should be in bed at this late/early hour. But today I got some yarn I traded with s.o. else (wave to Ithaca). That yarn is so beautiful, that after dutifully doing my homework for the grad seminar I had to roll the skein into a ball and at least try this pattern that has been occupying my yearning mind for quite a while now!.

Eigentlich sollte ich ja zu dieser nachtschlafenden Stunde im Bette sein, 1:41 h. Püüüh. Aber heute kam ein Paket mit superschöner Tauschwolle. Und da mir ein bestimmtes Sockenmuster schon lange im Kopf rumschwirrt und ich vorher wirklich ganz brav den Peter Handke fast fertig gelesen habe, so schwer es mir auch fiel, habe ich den Strang gewickelt und zumindest "angesaut" wie es in anderen blogs immer so schön heißt!
